Welcome

Viva Edge is Musica Viva Australia’s newest concert series located at The Edge in Federation Square, Melbourne. Surrounded by great food and drink options, grab a bite to eat before or after the concert. Enjoy The Edge’s acoustics and architecture in an inviting and informal setting, with convenient transport options close at hand.

Rising early-music star Wattleseed Ensemble presents a program covering nearly ten centuries, from Hildegard von Bingen to a world premiere by Australian composer Matt Laing, all on beautiful period instruments.

The Choir of Trinity College Melbourne, directed by Christopher Watson, brings its carefully honed choral blend to a program inspired by the music of living female composers.

Virtuosity and sensitivity are on lavish display as Grace Clifford and Laurence Matheson delight in the opportunity to immerse themselves, and their listeners, in masterworks of the chamber repertoire.

Exceptional virtuosi Nicolas Fleury, Emily Sun and Amir Farid remount their astonishing 2021 program, which was sadly kept out of Melbourne by the pandemic. Brahms’s legendary horn trio is paired with Gordon Kerry’s Violin Sonata, creating chamber music magic.

Be soothed by the smooth sounds of the Michelle Nicolle Quartet as J. S. Bach meets jazz in this unique program for Musica Viva Australia.
